Customer Questions & Answers:

Below, you'll find questions and answers from our customers

  • Why some comparable inks work and others have not

The last batch we received has not been successful the colours were mainly blue and purple the yellow and magenta although levels show full they did not come through in print. Very disappointing.

    • I am sorry you have had an issue with the quality from these cartridges.

During shipping cartridges get jolted and shaken around and the air which is normally at the top may have moved to the bottom.
If you have a problem with the print quality it is worth leaving the cartridges overnight before attempting to print again. This will allow the ink to settle. Always store your cartridge upright i.e. with the print head at the bottom.
The printer has a cleaning cycle designed to remove air trapped in the cartridge’s printhead.
Run the print head cleaning utility on your printer. This will effectively optimise the cartridge and your printer. This program should be run every time you change your printer's ink. Following these tips will ensure that your remanufactured cartridge works like it's brand new.

Ensure you have paper in the printer.
Open the control panel menu and select "printers”.
Select "properties" in the drop-down menu.
Choose the tab for cleaning. Various printers might have it listed under different names such as services, cleaning or maintenance.
Select the nozzles that should be cleaned, if applicable to your printer, and run the printer's cleaning program.
Print a test page and check results. Repeat cleaning 2 to 3 times if needed

Remember we guarantee all of our cartridges, therefore if you have continued issues please contact us directly for further support

  • I have replaced all cartridges but red light stays on ????

    Will not print or scan

    • i am sorry you are experiencing problems. A solid ink light means that a cartridge hasn't been recognized, access the Epson status monitor through printer properties and check which is the failing cartridge.

Remove the specific cartridge from the printer. Switch the printer off.

Check the copper chip on the cartridge. This Chip is what communicates with the printer. Give the each a gentle wipe with some damp kitchen roll, and allow to dry naturally ensure they are clean and dust free.

Reinstall the cartridge to your machine and restart the printer, this should clear the error.

Remember we guarantee all of our products with our 100% guarantee. Therefore, if you are not completely satisfied we are happy to replace the cartridge or refund you.

  • How do I troubleshoot when my printer is noe t allowed to accept your cartridges which is a ploy by Epson to sell their inks.

Will not accept your inks and refuses to print.

    • Compatible cartridges should work in all printers.

However, some printer manufacturers update software automatically onto printers to deter or prevent the use of compatible inks to push you towards purchasing original inks.

Due to this, we do not know what firmware may have been installed on your particular printer. This is why we offer a full guarantee, if they don’t work we will give you your money back, and get the cartridges back free of charge.

It is also worth knowing that we have vast knowledge and experience, along with and a huge kit bag of trouble shooting which can, in most cases, get around the errors and get you printing.

Please contact us directly and we will do our very best to get you printing.

  • Troubleshooting when my Epsom printer indicates that my compatibleink cartridges won't work.

You sent me an email offering troubleshooting tips on this link, but I can't find any

    • 1. Remove the cartridges from your machine with the printer on
      2. Turn your printer off and wait for approximately 5 minutes. Doing this will give your printer chance to clear the error it had and power down correctly
      3. Turn your printer back on and wait for it to settle down and warn of a missing cartridges.
      4. Re-install the cartridges individually. If multiple cartridges have been rejected I would recommend installing them individually and ensuring the cartridges are being recognised by the printer before repeating the process for the next cartridge.
If the printer states that one or more cartridges are not recognised there could possibly be a problem with the communication between the copper chips on the cartridges and your printer.
Please follow these cleaning instructions to resolve the problem:
Place some old newspaper down to capture any spillage of ink. Remove the cartridges from your printer –switch your printer off. Using a piece of damp kitchen roll, gently wipe the copper plate on the cartridges. Allow the chips to dry.
Once the chips are completely dry, re-install the cartridges into your printer and switch the printer back on. I would recommend that you run the print head cleaning program on your printer to clean the heads and push the ink through. For best results you should run the program three to four times.
If you find that after following this procedure you are still having a problem please contact our team directly.

  • Cartridge not recognised

    EPSON XP-355
Have just tried first cartridge in the printer and it was not recognised.
    Have tried your suggestions.
I removed the cartridge and switched off the printer for 5 mins then replaced the cartridge but no joy.
    Have tried this three times.
Also tried wiping the copper terminal, still no joy.
If you cannot sort this out I will expect a refund.
